Caldera teaser

CALDERA is an animated short film inspired by individuals struggling with psychotic disorders, and venerates the brilliant minds forged in the haunted depths of psychosis.

The story follows a young girl who goes off her medication and leaves a bleak metropolis to immerse herself in a vibrant oceanic cove. Ultimately, the story is about the young girl’s impossible predicament, where she can not live in either the fantastical and haunting world of psychosis or in the marginalizing society that mandates her medication.

Script excerpt:

She is already transforming. Her skin is glowing, falling apart, and pieces of her shirt are floating weightlessly in the air. She looks down at herself splitting apart at the seams.
Light pours out of her and collects in between her extended hands.

The imagery is so compelling. I like that from what you can see of the teaser, it’s not a simplistic good or bad depiction of psychosis. Interested in seeing the full movie.

This looks absolutely amazing. The colours, concepts, and soundtrack are beautifully crafted. It’ll be amazing to see which types of psychosis they decide to go with~

Uhm wow. That is definitely something I will be checking out! The imagery is gorgeous and the contrasts are so striking and beautiful.

as if depression is something that can be remedied by any of the contents found in a first aid kid

Please take a moment to watch this. A video has not moved so as strongly as this since that really popular Charlie Chaplin video that went around.

This video is for very personal reason is beautiful in so many ways.and if you just randomly see this on your dash whether you dealt with depression years ago, months ago, or maybe it’s a daily battle or maybe you never had to fight it at all I urge you to watch this.   

Sitting at my desk on a day when I’m feeling deeply mediocre, sobbing, telling myself there’s something out there that I’m better at than anybody else and once I find it I will never be ignored or left out again.

And crying.

And this is why I’m such a firm believer in taking those names and words away. Because they are wrong and we can make it right. No one deserves to have terrible words sit on their shoulders like lead weights. So lets turn them into feathers and blow them away. Well all have the strength, some more than others, and I will always hope those who are stronger will help the lesser find their ground so they can help the next.
