So I present to you:
My OC “Different”

I really love her right now^^ So here is the information I wrote about her on DeviantART:
The characters name is “Different” and she is an android made by GLaDOS. For testing of course.
Because Atlas and P-Body clearly didn’t show enough pain while being tested something GLaDOS obviously liked a lot about humans she invented more human looking robots. Different was one of the final results.
She was shaped after one specific female who were very good at testing. Her skin is synthetic and is as thin and weak as normal skin. However, she doesn’t bleed, just at very few places where the cooling liquid runs through. The rest is robotic muscles and nerves and cables which can be seen when the skin rips open. But parts of her aren’t skin to support her, so she doesn’t break so easily. A lot of her Torso is made of a material that is as hard as iron but as flexible as some sort of hard gum.
Her character is also somewhat based on Chell or in general humans. Without the bad tendencies of fleeing though. She learned how to behave with a few selected videos of humans being tested GLaDOS showed her and her character built up on that.
After that GLaDOS started testing with her. Her sensors for pain were a bit over sensitive though which lead to a few traumatic incidents. This is why she now avoids pain at any costs.
She weren’t able to speak at the beginning which is obviously because she were shaped after Chell who couldn’t speak either. But she learned how to speak with the turrets at first and then with GLaDOS’ consistent mocking.
I wonder what the future hold for her^^
I thought of all of that while drawing her by the way xD
Some other facts:
-Her Eyes really show she’s an Android. Her left Eye has an red glowing reticle in it and her right one shows the Portal Reticles as they can be seen while playing the game in ego perspective.
-Right now her two Portals are Red and White. That Might Change though.
-She named herself “Different” since her first words she ever spoke were taught to her by the Oracle Turret, which says “I’m Different” She knew what ‘I am’ means and simply used Different as her name since she didn’t know the meaning. Her official name given to her by GLaDOS is “AnTeSu 00073” (AnTeSu = Android Test Subject). But she will go with the name Different too. Similar to her calling Atlas and P-Body always Blue and Orange.
-The visible plate under her eye can be opened. Hidden behind it lies her USB Port or whatever GLaDOS uses these days for inputing information.
-Her hair was long at the beginning but she cut it. For convenience. With broken glass. It doesn’t regrow that’s why she’ll probably have this messy hair style forever.
-She will always trust GLaDOS at first. This is because she never had anyone to talk to but the Turrets and GLaDOS her creator. It would probably take a long time for her to trust anybody but ‘her mother’, especially when this anybody is against GLaDOS. It is possible however.
I will fill in an character profile with her. Perhaps even a really long one xD
